Fitness With Elite

All classes in Y5 get a chance to work with the Xcite  Coaches on a Thursday or Friday.

To make changing between classes easier, we would prefer pupils to come to school wearing their official Green/Black PE kit on Friday instead of their regular uniform.

This term we may be doing athletics outside.

Children will need to wear their school black PE shorts/black tracksuit bottoms & t-shirt for these lessons. Black school hoodies maybe worn over the top to keep pupils warm for the rest of the day.

As this is the uniform for the day we ask that children wear the official school PE kit rather than sports clothing from other clubs etc.

Homework Information

Reading at Home

Children will also be expected to complete reading at home to an adult. The expected amount is at least 4 reads of 20 minutes per week it is vital that your child completes this as it supports the learning that takes place in the classroom

All reading at home should be recorded in the reading record which your child will bring home with their reading book.

Spelling Homework Packs

Individual spellings will be sent home with each child to learn on a weekly basis.

Topic Homework

Each half term children will be given a ‘topic web’ (see image below). This ‘web’ calls for a variety of skills to be used from across the curriculum.

All of the suggested ideas link to our current topic and should be tackled over the course of the half term. (Hand each piece in as it is completed).

This homework is designed to enable families to tackle homework at their own pace helping pupils maintain a broad and balanced homework currciulm whilst supporting their mental health and wellbeing.

Download the Homework Web.

Hey there, couldn’t help noticing you’re using Internet Explorer

That’s great and all, and we commend you for pushing through with it. Unfortunately we no longer offer support for IE; it hasn’t received a major update since 2015 and Microsoft are dropping support for it later in the year.

If you’re using Windows 10 and want to stick with a built in browser, please consider switching to Edge. Or, if you really want to enjoy the internet properly we strongly recommend downloading Google Chrome here.
